Phase One Complete – Vanity and Toilet done!

Sorry it’s been a while since an update, but as usual we’ve been busting our butts trying to get our bathroom functional before Dad comes down tomorrow afternoon. Well we got it done by the skin of our teeth and it looks FABULOUS! I can’t believe how well it turned out. The shower tile will be coming in on Monday and we’ll pick that up and then start again on that long arduous task. But until then we have 2 sinks and a toilet that work great and we’re thrilled!

Henry the Hairstylist!

The little stinker got a hold of my hairbrush and decided to try and give me a new do.

Oh my God!! Look at that hair!
Here, we'll tease it a little bit like this...
Gotta get those tangles out

Let's give it some body
Whatcha think dad?

Weekly Round-up of Bathroom, Henry and other stuff

The bathroom is slowly coming along. It feels stagnant simply because putting up dry wall takes a while and doesn’t really add anything. We mudded all the walls and seams and Tommy was able to texture the ceiling. Next up, we texture the walls and lay the tile. We have one more weekend to get the vanity and toilet in before Tom’s dad comes down to visit for a couple days.  Hopefully we can get it done in time!

On Friday, the 21st, I attempted to attend the memorial service for Agent Brian Terry down at Kino Park. I’ll admit it was very naive of me to think that I could attend something like this with a 2 1/2 year old and get through the whole thing. Well it wasn’t even close. We were there for maybe 20 minutes and we had to leave just as the service began. I was bummed of course becuase it was a beautiful service, but I would have been a bawl bag by the end so it was probably for the better. For those of you who don’t know, Brian Terry was a member of the elite Bortac team in the Border Patrol. He was shot through the back by a drug dealer who was illegally trying to cross the border. He was an amazing man who served his country selflessly. Godspeed to this man and prayers for his family.

Master Bathroom Renovation Part 1

So, I know we told everyone that we were probably going to wait until later on in the year to tackle the master bathroom…but we just couldn’t do it. We were both feeling plucky and anxious and decided to start it while Tom had a good chunk of time off. For the past 2 weeks we’ve been tearing down walls, digging up concrete, shoveling dirt and nearly exhausting ourselves trying to get this thing done. Wow is all I can say. We’re probably about half way done but the hardest stuff is out of the way. Now we just have to put up drywall,  add the toilet and vanity, tile the floor, put in the door and fix the outside sheetrock in our bedroom. It’ll take a little longer than we expected, but I’m just glad we’ve started it. It’s going to look amazing!!
