Snowy Stronghold

We woke up this morning to a big suprise – snow on the rooftops! This is only the second time since I moved to Tucson in 2003 that I’ve seen it snow here. We had plans to go back out to Cochise and get on the firepit boulder again today and now we were wondering if it was smart to go or not. Well, after careful consideration and looking at the weather forecast (cuz you can ALWAYS trust that, right?) we decided to pack it in, bundle up and head out. When we arrived it was a little cloudy and snowy but we checked out the boulder and thought, we’re here so why not? After an hour or so of the sun peeking out from behind the clouds every now and then, it completely dissapeared and the wind showed up. It then turned into blizzard like conditions and we were still climibing. HA! Finally after a couple hours, we couldn’t take the cold anymore and took off. Overall it was a fun trip and cool to see snow in February when it should be getting hot here.

Bouldering at the Stronghold

Our buddies invited us to go out to Cochise today for some granite bouldering. Unfortunately they weren’t able to make it but we headed out anyway and are are glad we did- it was SO fun. We were unsure about the weather with all the wind around here, but in the end it wasn’t windy and the sun was shining. A huge contrast to the crappy rainy and dark weather we have right now. We made some really good progress on a V7 problem out there and so we’re hoping to go again maybe next weekend to give it some more work.

Superbowl Sunday

We chilled out today with a barbecue for lunch and then went to the park to hang out with Grandpa Lind and Grandpa Keeler. Tommy made some potato skins and some other goodies for the show and we vegged out on the couch.  Good times.

Phase One Complete – Vanity and Toilet done!

Sorry it’s been a while since an update, but as usual we’ve been busting our butts trying to get our bathroom functional before Dad comes down tomorrow afternoon. Well we got it done by the skin of our teeth and it looks FABULOUS! I can’t believe how well it turned out. The shower tile will be coming in on Monday and we’ll pick that up and then start again on that long arduous task. But until then we have 2 sinks and a toilet that work great and we’re thrilled!
